About McDonald’s Korea

Since entering the Korean market in 1988, McDonald’s Korea has been leading the domestic Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) industry for the past 37 years by introducing various initiatives for the first time in Korea, such as the Drive-thru platform McDrive, 24-hour operations, the breakfast menu McMorning, and delivery order service McDelivery.

  • 5th Anniversary of TOK(Taste of Korea) Project
  • McDonald’s Delivery Service Convergence

2024

  • Held '2024 McDonald's Family Walking Festival (now Happy Walk)'
  • Completed the implementation of visually impaired voice guidance to all company-owned restaurants nationwide
  • Introduced the industry's first 'Biowax wrap paper' and expanded the use of recycled PET (r-PET)

2023

  • Published "Brand Story", McDonald's Korea 35th anniversary commemorative book
  • Held McDonald's X New Jeans "Chicken Dance Campaign", targeting 10 Asian countries
  • Enabled the voice guidance function to kiosks for the visually impaired

2022

  • Held Boseong Green Tea Pork Burger Festival
  • Introduced electric bikes in all company-owned restaurants nationwide
  • Official launch of "My McDonald's Reward" program

  • Launched Korea's first Tandem Drive-thru
  • First launch of "Taste of Korea" Project
  • Launched "BTS Meal"

  • Opened a future-oriented and eco-friendly restaurant, Goyang Samsong DT
  • Introduced "Best Burger" for the first time in Asia to upgrade the taste and quality of the burger

2019

  • Replaced McDelivery bikes of Jeju and Gwangju area with eco-friendly electric bikes
  • Signed MOU with Seoul City for electric bike replacement

2018

  • Official sponsor of Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics

2017

  • Launched the premium craft burger "Signature Burger" nationwide

2016

  • Opened Korea's first future-oriented store in Sangam DMC
  • Launched Shrimp Beef Burger and Supreme Shrimp Burger

2015

  • First launch of premium handmade burger, Signature Burger

2014

  • Launched 1955 Burger

2013

  • 25th Anniversary of entering Korea
  • Launched "Soccer Class with Dad" and "Soccer Class for Children from Multicultural Families" programs
  • Launched the "Happy Burger" campaign

2012

  • Launched a new menu platform, Happy Value Meal
  • Introduced a new service platform, McCafé

2011

  • Launched a new online soccer manual, Soccer Toolkit

2010

  • Ranked #1 in the NCSI for QSR category
  • Launched 'Quarter Pounder® with Cheese' in Korea
  • Started free Wi-fi service in all restaurants

2009

  • Launched a premium coffee brand, McCafé

2008

  • 20th Anniversary of entering Korea

2007

  • Started 'McDelivery' service
  • Replaced all French fries with a reduced trans fat(TFA) version
  • Started Ronald McDonald Children's Soccer Class: After-School Program
  • RMHC Korea established a Hospital School at Busan National University Yangsan Children's Hospital
  • RMHC Korea developed a program to support children with cancer for the smooth return and reintegration into the classroom
  • Established Ronald McDonald's House Charities

2006

  • Introduced breakfast menu 'McMorning' in Korea
  • Launched Ronald McDonald Children's Soccer Class

2005

  • Started 24-hour operations
  • Established a 'Hospital School' at Severance Yonsei Children's Hospital
