From Plastic to Paper — McFlurry Lids Go Greener
The plastic lids previously used for McFlurry have been replaced with paper lids made from eco-friendly materials. By switching to paper lids, McDonald’s is able to reduce approximately 14 tons of plastic waste every year, contributing to a more sustainable future.
Enjoy Your Drink Without a Straw
McDonald’s became the first in the industry to introduce the “Straw-Free Lid”, an innovative design that lets customers enjoy beverages without using plastic straws. This initiative helps reduce about 6.9 tons of plastic waste every month. Since hosting the “Straw Retirement Ceremony” in March 2021, McDonald’s has continued its journey toward more eco-friendly practices.
